Below, a rare black and white photograph of John Lennon, Cynthia Lennon, John Hague and Tony Carricker near to Liverpool College of Art taken in December 1959. Tony Carricker was an art school friend of John Lennon and a lifelong music lover who contributed for broadening John’s musical horizons thanks to his vast collection of types of vinyl, especially rock n’ roll and R n’ B. Among them all, ‘That’ll Be The Day/In Spite Of All The Danger’ was one of the lp he led to John, that later will become one of the Quarrymen’s first cover songs.
